While some people like to argue that Valentine’s Day isn’t a real holiday, it’s always been one of my favorites. I think because it involves hearts, flowers, and candy. Oh and the colors red and pink which are two of my favorite colors. So what’s not to like? It’s also a great excuse for some crafting and when I was working in my classroom, I loved doing Valentine’s Day crafts with my kids. Now I love doing them with my own kids!
Here are five of my favorite Valentines Day Craft Ideas!
5 Valentines Day Craft Ideas
1. Heart Rocks
Heart Rocks are some of my favorite DIY Valentines to make. They are so easy to make and so versatile as well! They can be used for decorations around the house or as actually Valentine’s Day gifts! I also love these because they are a great way to use up scraps from other crafting projects. Plus everyone can make heart rocks that match their personality or style!
2. Valentine’s Day Bark
Although it might not be considered a craft under most definitions, Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without a sweet treat and my Valentine’s Day Bark is definitely a fun treat to make with the kids! My favorite thing about making candy bark is the versatility. It works great for most holidays and is a great gift as well! Bag it in a festive bag with a ribbon tie and you have an adorable gift for all ages!
3. Secret Message Valentines
If you have a child who loves to develop secret codes then Secret Message Valentines will be a huge hit! They are simple to make because all you need is some paper, a white crayon, and water color paints! Those are all things I have in my craft cabinet at any given moment. I may not have the most elaborate craft cabinet but I have the basics!
4. Footprint Heart Art
So I will confess that I have a soft spot for holiday craft that use a child’s handprint or footprint. I just love the way they capture the child at that point in time. Danielle’s Footprint Heart Art is one of my favorite Valentine’s Day craft ideas for this reason. I think it would look adorable if I made a heart with W’s feet and one with C’s feet on the same canvas. I’m pretty sure the grandparents would love it!
5. Mouse Valentines
I’m also a sucker for crafts that are absolutely adorable like Staci’s Mouse Valentine’s Day card! I love that she makes these with her kids because I’m all about kid friendly holiday crafts. And I love how easy they are to make! They are great for making at home with the kids or for making at a classroom party!
