Wisharoo Park is a multimedia edutainment series designed to help children ages 3-6 recognize and appreciate their own individuality. Wisharoo Park aims to encourage children’s social development and build greater self-esteem while helping them discover their gifts and talents.
Development in social and emotional areas is just as important as the development of academic skills and Wisharoo Park provides resources to encourage your children to grow in these areas as well! It can be challenging to find quality resources that address emotional development so Wisharoo Park definitely caught my eye when I first discovered the website.
We received an adorable gift pack with the Wisharoo Park DVD and Wish Stars all in a chocolate bowl. Yes, you read that correctly — a chocolate bowl. I didn’t have much of it, but it was tasty and J definitely enjoyed it as did some guests we had at our house the weekend after we received it!
The 2 disc Wisharoo Park DVD includes all 13 episodes of Season 1 of Wisharoo Park. Each episode of includes all of the Wisharoo Park Pals and plenty of music! The Wish Stars are also finger puppets and are the perfect size for small hands! Soon you will be able to check out the Story of the Wish Star on the Wisharoo Park website.
As you can see in the photo, W is a fan of the Wish Stars! They fit perfectly in his little hands. I will warn you that dogs also think they are perfect for chewing on and we have already had a few casualties.
W also thinks it’s pretty funny when we put them on our fingers although he hasn’t figured out how to get his own fingers in them quite yet. I like the Wish Stars because the only smaller toys we have are plastic blocks from a shape sorter so it’s nice that these are soft.
Although W is younger than the target age for Wisharoo Park, he has enjoyed watching parts of the DVD. As I’ve mentioned before he is a huge fan of music. He also tends to like puppets more than straight animation so Wisharoo Park is really interesting for him. I like that he will be able to grow into Wisharoo Park.
Although W doesn’t watch a lot of television at this point, he does watch a little each day. I like knowing I have something that he can watch without having to worry about the content. Each episode includes great original music and messages about being an individual and being creative. I love these messages and they are ones I hope to pass along to my son as he grows! It is important to start working on building self-esteem at a young age. If your child believes in himself when he is at home, there is a much better chance that he will carry that confidence with him to school!
Wisharoo Park offers the Wisharoo Park 2 disc set, the Wish Stars, and their Duckle Dance t-shirt for sale in the Wisharoo Park Store. They also have a variety of music offerings available.
