If there are two things I enjoy, they are cloth diapers and technology! Two of my favorite things have finally come together with the introduction of the Fluff Stash iPhone/iPod app! It’s the first of its kind and is an app just for cloth diaper fanatics!
Fluff Stash ipod app
The app is easy to use and navigate, which is always nice! You can take photos of all of your diapers using your iPhone or iPod, then categorize them by brand, color, size, style and more! It’s simple to sort, organize, and share your stash with the click of a button! It’s pretty much the perfect app to encourage any cloth diaper addiction you might have!
When I first heard about his app, I was jealous for a moment because I don’t have an iPhone but then I figured I could always use J’s to try out the app. Of course, after that thought passed, I realized that the iPod Touch I got for Christmas (best gift ever) could handle the app just as well as J’s phone! Pregancy baby brain has definitely turned into mommy brain around here!
I love apps and have had a great time downloading a variety of apps over the past 5 months. I try a lot of free apps and download many of the 99 cent apps. I’ve also purchased a few higher priced apps after trying the free versions. But I was thrilled to have the opportunity to try this app for free although I would have gladly purchased it as it is extremely affordable! For 99 cents you can have your own Fluff Stash app (or keep reading for a chance to win) and you can start tracking your stash! It’s worth more than its price tag if you have a cloth addiction like I do!
As soon as I had downloaded the app, I was off and running! I will admit that when I first started the app and it told me my stash was empty, I was a bit sad! But I quickly resolved that issue and I want to take you through the process so you can see all of the great features I discovered as I played with the app. It took me a bit to understand all of the great features so maybe I can help you discover them more quickly than I did!
Once you’ve opened the app use the camera icon in the lower left corner to take a photo of the diaper you want to add to your stash or you can import a photo from your camera roll. Once you’ve taken the photo you can choose to use it or to retake it. If you use it, it goes into your stash.
If you tap the thumbnail of a diaper, it will show the enlarged picture of the diaper and you will also be able to edit the properties of the photo by tapping the magnifying glass in the lower right corner.
On the properties page, you can edit the color, size, brand, and type of diaper. You can also enter a caption for the photo of the diaper.
I also had to make a choice in the area of diaper type because the list includes AI2 and Hybrid. When I think of diapers in these two areas, I tend to group them all together. Since it is my stash, I don’t think there is too much to worry about. I doubt anyone is going to get too technical on me and how I choose to categorize my diaper stash!
I love the color feature although I had a dilemma when it came to the Green Giraffe print on my Best Bottom shell. Is it black? Is it green? I wish I could choose more than one color for this diaper, but I settled on black as it is the background color of the shell. Then I realized I could edit the list of options and add another option, so I added a Prints option!
I also added a caption describing the diaper. Once you tap Done in the upper right hand corner, you will return to the photos of your stash and you can see the photo of the diaper with the caption you entered.
There are a few ways to share your stash. If you are viewing a photo of a diaper, you can tap the box with the arrow in the lower left corner and you will see the Share This Image menu. From that menu you can share to your library, to Twitter, to Facebook, email it, or copy it.
I decided to share to Twitter in the following screen cap. Once I selected the To Twitter option, the following screen came up and all I had to do was tap Done.
I was then prompted to login to Twitter.
Once I logged in to Twitter, the app shared the photo!
You can also share from the main page of your fluff stash by tapping the crossed arrows in the center of the lower bar on the app. Tapping the arrows will bring up a menu below the bar where you can import, share, see image info, or delete.
Once you select share, you will need to select the items you would like to share and how you would like to share them. I chose the Best Bottom diaper and email. When you choose email, it will insert the photo with some standard text. You can edit the text and you will also need to add your email addresses and subject line. Then press send and you are done!
If you choose to share to Facebook, you will need to choose the photo you would like to share just as you did with the email share. Then you will be prompted to log in to Facebook to complete the share. The Fluff Stash app makes it all very simple to share your stash!
So the bottom line is that I am a huge fan of this app! It will be a great way to keep track of my stash! I’ve always wanted a way to track it as I lost the word document I had it all saved in when my previous laptop had some issues. The Fluff Stash app makes me want to go and break out my newborn stash so I can add it! Maybe I will do that this summer when W is napping! I will keep you updated!
