Start Simple, Start Right with Kellogg's cereal

Start Simple Start Right with Kellogg’s

CEREAL!! Yes, I’m shouting because… CEREAL! I will admit that I love cereal. It’s great for breakfast and snacks. It’s one of my favorite late night snacks. I have been eating it for years! I know I’m probably not alone.

But recently Kellogg’s challenged me to think about where my family’s cereal comes from. To be honest, I have never been one to spend much time analyzing the ingredients on the cereal boxes. But the Kellogg’s Start Simple Start Right initiative really got me thinking.

What's in your cereal? Kellogg's Start Simple, Start Right

So, cereal is easy to prepare and comes in enough varieties to make everyone happy. I happen to be a huge Rice Krispies fan and could eat them at every meal. Grambo loves Raisin Bran and definitely prefers the Kellogg’s brand. I grew up knowing the sun with the two scoops of raisins. So we often pick up a few boxes of Kellogg’s cereal when we’re grocery shopping!

We received the following cereals to try out and there was really something for everyone!

I had that box of Rice Krispies open the day it arrived. I’m not ashamed to admit it. I also ate most of it myself but not in one day. Don’t get too worried! I was also very interested in the Gluten Free Rice Krispies and discovered that I like those too!

7 Ingredients or Less

All of the cereals we were sent to sample are made from a handful of simple ingredients. They are made from 7 or less common ingredients along with vitamins and minerals. It all starts with a single simple grain. In a world where it feels like there are additives in almost everything, it’s nice to know that I can find foods that offer simplicity and convenience. It’s the “Seed to Spoon” approach and it really speaks to me as a mom.

To learn more about the seed to spoon approach and the way Kellogg’s makes their cereals, check out the following videos:

J found these videos really interesting. I guess I never thought much about how our cereals were actually made.

Family Approved Quality

While I enjoyed learning more about the where the cereals we enjoy come from. I was struck most by the work Kellogg’s is doing to make sure the quality is there as well. It is definitely quality that my family appreciates considering how often they request varieties like Raisin Bran, Rice Krispies, and Corn Flakes!

Easy to make, great flavor, and quality ingredients? What more could this mom ask for? Not much! And it’s also inspired me to start learning more about the other foods we eat regularly!
