St Patrick Day Crafts: Easy Shamrocks
St. Patrick’s Day is coming quickly (I cannot believe that February is almost over already)! While we never have a huge celebration, I’m always on the hunt for fun activities to do at home with W and with my kids at school. There are a ton of St Patrick Day Crafts and I have an entire St. Patrick’s Day Pinterest board dedicated to ideas for the day.
But one thing I always need for crafts are shamrocks! Having a toddler and working with special needs students, everything is about sensory experiences. So sometimes a construction paper shamrock just isn’t enough! I want something with texture so they can feel and explore it!

Turn Pipe Cleaners Into St. Patrick’s Day Shamrocks
As a teacher, I know the wonders of the pipe cleaner. They can be used for so many classroom activities. And as a mom I’ve discovered even more love for them as they can keep a toddler busy for more than a few minutes at a time! These pipe cleaners are wonderful things and they work perfect for making St. Patrick’s Day Shamrocks that have texture and pop off of the paper!

I like things simple so this is perfect for me. And older kids can help make them too! Here’s what you do:
- Put 3 fingers together.
- Wrap the pipe cleaner around your fingers one at a time.
- Take it off of your fingers and twist the ends together to hold the shamrock.
- Trim stem to desired length.

Get Creative This St. Patrick’s Day
Although St. Patrick’s Day is just a single day and might seem like it’s more about adult celebration, you can have plenty of fun with the kids as well. Gather some St Patrick Day Crafts and recipes and spend some time together as a family! These easy pipe cleaner shamrocks are a great way to get started. I will warn you that they are a bit addictive so you could end up with a bouquet of shamrocks without realizing it!
