Saving on Diapers and Wipes
While we started out as a cloth diapering family, we have moved to using disposable diapers. It’s just what has worked with changes in our childcare situation over time. So while I plan on using cloth diapers when we have our next child, right now I’m all about saving on diapers and finding brands that work for us.
Not every brand works great for W. He used to be a chubby little guy but as he has started to get taller, he has thinned out. But he still weighs in around 34 pounds at 2. And he’s tall. He’s almost 38″ tall already. So I’ve learned that not all diapers work for us just because they work well for our friends.

But I like to save money when possible and I’ve discovered that you don’t necessarily have to shop the name brands to get a great diaper. So when I had the opportunity to try the Kidgets brand from Family Dollar, I was thrilled. I’m all about finding great value on products we use everyday in our home.

Getting Great Diaper Value
Being able to pick up a pack of diapers and a 72 count package wipes for less than $10 is a great value in my opinion. But I’ll admit it left me wondering about the quality of the diapers. We have tried more affordable brands in the past and they often feel less absorbent or more paper like than more expensive brands. Oh, and some have a very “diaper” smell to me. I’m not sure how to explain it but it’s like I can just smell the diaper.

So I was impressed to find that the Kidgets diapers felt very absorbent and soft. And there was no “diaper” smell at all. Based on the weight listed on the packages, W should fit in a size 4. He wears size 6 in other brands so I wondered. But we got a great, slim fit with them.
And the best news… no leaks or gaps!
If you’re looking for diapers that are affordable, you might want to see if the Family Dollar Kidgets line works well for your child. Ohm and the newest addition to the line are baby wipes. I have been using them at school and they work just as well as brands that cost much more!

Since we’ve cloth diapered from the beginning we haven’t really been in the market for any diapers but these would be great for a trip we’re taking this summer. No access to a washer and dryer means no cloth diapers
Maybe little miss will be potty trained by then. Hahaha… I kid.

Most of us have experience in the old days of using cloth diapers. I agree that using the disposable type is much more convenient if you are going on a trip. Not only are they high quality, but they are also affordable. Shopping from Family Dollar is a sensible way to save money.
