Review: Zoobies Storytime Pal

The Zoobies’ mission can be summed up with three Cs:

• Convertible. Zoobies products are extremely versatile.
• Comfort. Zoobies has coined the term “squishability” to measure how snuggly and soft their products are.
• Convenience. The 3-in-1 design helps reduce clutter, keeping mom in mind.

Zoobies offers four lines of their cuddly plush friends. The Blanket Pets are the original Zoobie pets featuring a plush toy, comfy pillow, and cozy blanket all-in-one. Blanket Pets are recommended for all ages. For ages 2 and up, Zoobies offers Slumber Pets which feature an oversized plush with a built-in pillow and fleece sleeping bag. For the younger ones (ages 0-2), Blankie Babies are pint-sized plush friends that feature a fleece blanket with satin comfort corners.

We had the opportunity to review one of the Zoobies Storytime Pals. Storytime Pals are Zoobies version of some of the best-loved children’s book characters and I jumped at the chance to have the Very Hungry Caterpillar from Zoobies come live in our home!

Zoobies teamed up with the World of Eric Carle to bring to life he Very Hungry Caterpillar and I couldn’t have been more excited. Eric Carle is one of my favorite children’s book authors and I have already shared quite a few of his books with W! When the caterpillar arrived, I was thrilled with how well he matched the book character. Zoobies definitely brought the Very Hungry Caterpillar to life!

This Zoobies Storytime Pal folds into a pillow and has a butterfly print blanket zipped inside. There are two hook-and-loop tabs on the bottom of the caterpillar that are used to gather him into the character shape. He is so cute, I almost didn’t want to take out the blanket because I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get it back in.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is extremely soft and the colors are bright and vivid. It immediately caught W’s attention when I placed it in front of him and after he got over wanting to put the tag in his mouth, he was more than happy to play with his new caterpillar.

Despite my fear, I did take the blanket out of the body of the caterpillar. The blanket is an extremely soft fleece with the same great colors as the plush and measures 44″ x 34″ which makes it a wonderful size!

I was able to get the blanket back into the caterpillar body although it took me too tries. The first time, I pulled a stunt from my childhood and barely folded it before just trying to stuff it back inside. The second time I folded it in a much better way and it was very easy to put back inside.

One of my favorite features is the zipper that connects the blanket to the plush. This allows the blanket to be washed in the washing machine and to be used separate from the plush body.

The Storytime Pals Zoobies are recommended for ages 3 and up but have been safety tested and approved for ages. I can see them being amazing gifts for children of any age. I also know a few teaching friends who would love to have one of these so I think they would make great gifts for any occasion.

As you can see, W enjoyed playing with the caterpillar and I loved sharing the book with him while we sat with the Very Hungry Caterpillar!
