Review: Zippies (Sponsor Spotlight)

I recently discovered Zippies through one of my students at school. This is the way I learn about a lot of new products. If you haven’t heard of Zippies before they are collectible characters that help children identify their belongings in a fun way by simply clipping them to water bottles, lunch boxes, backpacks, jackets and even bicycles.  Each Zippies ID tag features a different character on one side with a place for contact information or even food allergies on the other.  They are really cute too! Yes, I am a sucker for the cute factor!

I received a package of 5 Zippies as part of my 25 Crazy Dayz of Giveawayz prize package and I was probably more excited than I should admit. The colors on the Zippies are fabulous. Of course, it didn’t hurt that my package included Kayla, Tazmo, and Flops who come in my favorite colors of pink, orange, and gray! I also love the blue of Chip. The colors are bright and definitely appeal to kids of a variety of ages.

Another thing I like about the Zippies is that on the website zippiesfun.com you can Meet the Zippies! Each Zippies has a poem that tells a bit about them. They are very cute. Here is the story of Flops:

Feeling happy when he hops.

He lives on a farm.

And would never cause harm.

Carrots are his choice.

He has a soft quiet voice.

The poems are great for beginning reader which I definitely like as a teacher. Students are very motivated to practice reading when it ties into a favorite stuffed animal or toy. Zippies are great because they offer more than just a cute toy. They offer an original way to label you child’s things and also provide a great website that includes the poems as well as the Zippies Fun Zone.
