Halo SleepSack

When W got too big for his swaddle, I wasn’t sure what we were going to use for him at night. I knew he wasn’t supposed to sleep with a bunch of loose blankets around him and I knew that he liked to be swaddled. The HALO SleepSack is a great way to transition from the swaddle to loose bedding when your child is older!

Halo SleepSackThe HALO SleepSack is a wearable blanket that replaces loose blankets in the crib. Loose blankets can cover your baby’s face and interfere with breathing. The HALO SleepSack is the #1 trusted choice of hospitals and parents. The HALO SleepSack wearable blanket helps babies sleep better too because it’s a warm, cuddly blanket they can’t kick off!

We received a 100% cotton SleepSack in the Turquoise Animal Friends print. I love this print because it is gender neutral without being yellow or sage green! The HALO SleepSack is available in 4 sizes from small through extra-large.

Halo SleepSackBased on the sizing chart, I went with the extra-large. It is designed for babies aged 18 – 24 months, weighing 26 – 36 pounds, and 35″ – 40″ in length. I have learned that weight is often the most important sizing detail so I based my decision on the fact that W weighs 31 pounds. He is only 31.5″ long but having room to grow isn’t a bad thing. I did wonder how long it would be on him but wasn’t too concerned because of the design.

The HALO SleepSack was a little big on W but not overly large that I felt uncomfortable using it. In fact, I’m thrilled that the SleepSack might actually last us for a while since the pediatrician assures us that his growth will be slowing down some now that he is a year old. W always kicks off blankets during the night if we use loose blankets and he doesn’t always like to wear pajama pants at night. I worry about his little legs getting cold so the HALO SleepSack is a perfect solution for us! It has worked out great and the 100% cotton SleepSack is light enough that it will work in the spring and summer as well.

HALO offers a variety of products including the micro-fleece SleepSack in addition to the 100% cotton SleepSack. They also offer the Early Walker SleepSack Wearable Blanket and the Big Kid’s SleepSack Wearable Blanket so there are HALO SleepSack opti0ns for children of all ages!
