Q-tip Painting: Snowman Craft

It’s winter and that means snow in many places! So why not celebrate with a snow-related craft. And for those of us in warmer places like Houston, we can still enjoy the magic of a snowman with this easy Q-Tip Painting activity! I love that this one is usually less messy than breaking out brushes for regular painting. You can make your own Q-Tip Painting Snowman!

If you have construction paper, paint, and some Q-Tips then you’re ready to get crafty! For the snowman, I like to use blue paper as the background because it makes the white paint pop. And the white paint is obviously a necessity for this craft! But you can choose any other paint colors that you would like.

I recommend orange (carrot nose), black (eyes, mouth, buttons, and perhaps a hat), and brown (stick arms). But you could do cute things with other colors like a pink hat or red earmuffs too!

I squeeze paint out onto a plate or paper towel because you only need a small amount of most colors. You will need more white since it is the foundation of a snow scene. But the beauty of using a paper towel is that the clean up is extremely easy! So squeeze a glob of each color on a folded paper towel. Give the kids a Q-tip for each color and start Q-tip Painting!

When you’re done, just throw it all the way and you’ll have a beautiful snowman to celebrate being in the thick of winter! The great thing about Q-Tips is that they are pretty affordable and you don’t have to spend time trying to get all of the paint out of the brushes. You can enjoy craft time and then move on without having to deal with the aftermath of cleaning!

I’ll admit that easy clean up makes me much more willing to try getting crafty with a toddler!

Plus, you can do Q-Tip painting any day you want! Winter is just a great reason to use some white paint that might not get used as often!

Tell me what Q-Tip painting you would make!
