I will admit that I love trying new Facebook apps! I am one of those people who loves to play new games and make new things on Facebook. I try not to share them all on my wall but sometimes the apps get the best of me! I recently had some fun with a new app called PhotoPad. PhotoPad lets you take the photos your already have uploaded on Facebook and turn them into a digital scrapbook! It only took me a few minutes to create my first photo book using some of the photos I had uploaded in one of my albums!
The app is extremely easy to use and I was surprised by some of the features it offered! I could choose to use an album from my profile or from one of my friend’s profiles. I have a friend who has taken a lot of photos of W so I can see how that feature would be very useful at times! PhotoPad offers page templates to help guide you along as you create or edit your book. I also loved that I could share with my Facebook friends by posting on my wall and PhotoPad also offers the option to let your friends have the ability to edit the book as well. It would be a great app for putting together a special little digital scrapbook with multiple contributors, perhaps for an anniversary or a birthday party.
I do wish that there were more options in terms of book covers and page backgrounds. I felt limited to the cover I used because the others felt more girly and most of the photos in my book were of W! I also had a bit of difficulty editing my text because when I added a text box it appeared right over the photo of W in the center. When I tried to move my text box, it would select the photo and give me the photo editor menu. After a few tries I was able to move the text box and I didn’t have any issues after that!
I also found it interesting that I was earning points while I made my photo books. Apparently the points and levels can help you earn additional entries in giveaways that PhotoPad hosts on their Facebook page. I did jump on the chance to enter to win a $50 Visa gift card this month. I was able to earn an extra entry for every 1,000 points I had so I worked on some more projects so I could get to 1,000 and earn an extra entry! It was motivating for me!
If you like to create photo books then PhotoPad is a Facebook app you will probably enjoy!
Who would you feature in your first PhotoPad digital scrapbook?
