How Loud Will You Scream? Monsters Inc is Back!

If you’re like me, you first saw Monsters Inc  over 10 years ago. Yes, way back in 2001 when the film was first released. It was one of my sister’s favorite Disney movies. She was 13 when we sat it for the first time and she fell in love with “Kitty.” Yes, the character of Sulley will always remind me of my sister. So when I had the chance to screen Monsters, Inc. 3D while I was in LA for the #DisneyMoviesEvent it was definitely a nostalgic experience.

In case you aren’t familiar with the story, let me bring you up to speed. Monsters Inc 3D tells the story of Sully (the big blue furry one) and Mike Wazowski (the one-eyed wonder). They are the top scaring team at Monsters, Inc. in Metropolis. The staff at Monsters, Inc. is responsible for gathering the screams of children to power the city.

But how much power can a child’s scream hold?

That is the question!

Gathering Screams in 3D

Although I knew the story, I’ll admit that there were some details that had faded over time. So it was great to see the film in 3D which added a great depth to the movie. I definitely prefer the 3D that adds depth rather than things popping out at me. I found myself laughing and even tearing up a bit.

But the bottom line is that I had a fabulous time experiencing the Monsters, Inc. tale once again. I get so excited about the new Disney movies that I sometimes forget just how much love I have for the older films too. And now that I’m a mom, I love that it’s rated G. It’s hard to find good G-rated movies these days!

Seriously though, a G-rated movie that kids love and keeps parents entertained is absolutely perfect for the holidays!

  3. Yay! One of our FAVORITE movies :) Monsters is one of the most requested rides to ride when we head to Disney’s California Adventure and whenever we see the movie on TV we have to watch it.
