Mega Bloks® First Builders™ Safari Train Toy

Mega Bloks® First Builders™ Safari Train Toy

There are a few things that W loves these days. Cars, balls, blocks, and trains. As long as we have a few of each around, he is completely happy. So when the Mega Bloks® First Builders™ Safari Train arrived at our house, I knew it was sure to be a hit. Blocks and a train in one toy? What else could he need? Yes, I was pretty sure this safari train was going to be a good one.

The Mega Bloks® First Builders™ Safari Train appealed to me as a mom because we already own a number of Mega Bloks® sets. W loves building with them. I liked the animal shaped pieces for a bit of variety and the wheel bases in the safari train set. We didn’t have any wheels yet, so I was interested in seeing W use them.

Safari Train from Mega Bloks® First Builders™

Good Value and Easy to Open

At $19.99 for the set, I feel that the price is right to add some diversity to your Mega Bloks® collection. While the set includes a few ordinary blocks, most of the pieces are very unique. W was immediately a fan of the alligator and the elephant. He snagged them out of the box as I opened the toy.

Speaking of opening the toy, I have to mention the thing that is often most important to me. The safari train was a breeze to open! I was able to twist the ties and pull out the blocks fairly quickly. I did have to get a pair of scissors to snip in two or three places. But no tools were required which is always nice when it comes to children’s toys!

Mega Bloks® Safari Train

Perfect for Little Hands

W had no trouble putting together the pieces of the set. It didn’t look quite like the photos on the box but that is part of the fun of it! He was able to build the train up in different ways over and over again. And while he wanted me to play with him, he didn’t need me to help put the blocks together. Once I snapped a few more photos, I did join in the fun though!

I just love that he is able to build and explore his creativity independently with this set of blocks. He also loved pushing down on the horn of the train to make noise. And I appreciated the sound feature because it was fairly muted. Everyone wins!

First Builders™ Safari Train

Encouraging Independent, Creative Play

Designed for ages 1-5, the set includes 13 pieces. It combines with Mega Bloks® First Builders™ sets to help your child have even more fun! The wheels have been great for creating trains but also for building our own cars. We’ve had quite a few  block car races in our home!
