Little One Books (Review)

Little One BooksBarney and Joan of Little One Books understand the importance of books, music, and video in a child’s life. They learned that from their own parenthood experience and when they had their first grandchild they went on a hunt for the most appropriate material they could find for her. It was a challenge and took a lot of time and effort. Barney and Joan realized that it would be wonderful to have a resource to turn to when looking for high quality media for children. As a result, Little One Books was born.

Little One Books specializes in books, music, and video for children from birth through 5 years old.

They personally review and select each item they offer. You will find detailed information on why they like each product in the “Why We Chose” section on each product page. If you’re looking for products that are well-suited for certain age groups, Little One Books is organized by age group so you will easily be able to find something for the child in your life!

Little One Books Music CDsWe had the opportunity to review two music CDs from Little One Books — a sampler CD with selections from a variety of CDs offered at Little One Books as well as Mozart for Babies. W is already a huge fan of music and will listen to anything we let him listen to so we have to be careful! J is a huge Metallica fan but so far we’ve only let W listen to the lullaby versions of Metallica songs. W also loves to sit and listen to J play the guitar. So, music CDs are a perfect fit in our home right now!

The Baby Series Sampler CD we received features selections from Good Night, It’s a Boy, It’s a Girl, and Mozart for Babies. The sampler CD was nice because it gave me a taste of each of the CDs. Based on the samples, my favorite CD is Mozart for Baby so I’m glad we also received the full Mozart for Babies CD.

Mozart for BabiesMozart for Babies features 11 tracks each of which have mellow, flowing melodies. It is perfect as part of bedtime routine but is also great if you’re looking for a little quiet time in the afternoon. I also need to mention as a teacher that this would be a wonderful CD for the classroom. When I was teaching first grade, my students enjoyed having some quiet music during our sustained silent reading time and this CD would be perfect for that activity. Played at a low volume, it is extremely soothing and not distracting at all. At home it could be a great addition to homework time if your children enjoy music while they work.

If you’re interested in placing an order at Little One Books, you can get  Mozart for Babies for FREE when you purchase and 2 Little One Books products. Just use the code mozart at checkout.
