Baby Can Learn with Lazoo (Review)

LazooLazoo was first based on a series of best-selling Japanese children’s books but has grown into a comprehensive lifestyle children’s brand and media property. Lazoo is focused on novel design, individual expression, creativity, and fun! The mission of Lazoo is to foster children’s creative processes, encourage self-expression, and empower their imaginations.

The Lazoo products include apparel, accessories, backpacks, plush, and books. I first discovered the Lazoo brand at Babies R’ Us when shopping for clothes for W. I bought him a shirt with a matching plush toy. Then I found out that they offer a wide variety of children’s books as well. The Color Your World! Books by Lazoo encourage children to be creative and use their imagination.

It’s not always about coloring inside the lines and Lazoo wants kids to know that!

Lazoo children's booksWe received a wonderful package of Lazoo books that included:

  • Holes!
  • Incredible Stickers!
  • Squiggles!
  • Hidden Animals!
  • Colors!
When I took these books out of the box, I was immediately taken by the bright colors. They are really eye-catching and would draw the attention of even the most reluctant reader.

Lazoo Board BooksTwo of the books we received, Hidden Animals! and Colors!, were board books that are appropriate for W. As soon as I had them out of the box, I had him in my lap and we were looking at them. He enjoys looking at books and then chewing on them. My initial reactions to both books was good. I love the colors in both books, but especially in the Colors! book.

Each page of Colors! focuses on one color. In the photo you can see the green page. It has the word green in large, dark green letters and everything on the page is a shade of green. There is a dragon, and alligator, and even a frog with a green leaf! It’s a wonderful book and goes through all of the colors of the rainbow and also includes brown, black, and white.

Reading Colors! by LazooW definitely enjoys the board books from Lazoo. His favorite is the Colors! book. I think he will enjoy the Hidden Animals! book when he’s a bit older. Right now he prefers pictures of real animals versus drawn or cartoon versions.

I really enjoy all of the books although we’re only using the board books at this point. The other three titles are wonderful coloring/activity books that are very different from the ones you might pick up at the grocery store. They are full of activities that really promote imagination and creativity. They are not your run of the mill connect the dots and mazes. They would make wonderful books for any older child just as the board books would make a great addition to any baby’s library.

You can browse and shop online at the Lazoo website or at your local Babies R Us. If you would like to learn even more about this great company, check out the Lazoo Blog, get connected on Facebook, or follow them on Twitter!
