Kleenex Cares: Softness Worth Sharing #KleenexCares

Sharing This Halloween with Kleenex Cares

I would do anything for W. I know I’m not alone in that type of mom feeling. I want him to have everything he needs in life. Never feel afraid, never feel alone, and never hurt. We’re lucky because I have the chance to give all of that to give my child a lot to keep him healthy, happy, and safe.

As W gets older I want to teach him the power of giving to others. It’s truly a powerful thing and the holidays are a great time to introduce those lessons. I know Thanksgiving is about appreciating what we have. Christmas is a great time to think of others as we receive gifts. But I think it can start as early as Halloween.

For some kids, trick-or-treating is like a mini Christmas. It may not be full of toys, but bags full of candy is pretty exciting when you’re young! Who am I kidding? It’s pretty exciting as an adult too! I figure Halloween is a good time to start thinking of others. As we get a bunch of goodies, there are people out there in need. So, I got involved with my mom in a little project in honor of the Kleenex Cares Softness Worth Sharing Initiative.

Collecting for the Military #KleenexCares

Sharing is Caring

This October has been about more than candy for our family. We have been collecting items for care boxes to send to some local military. The dad of a local family was recently deployed. They have a young daughter who is about W’s age. She has a condition that causes her to get brain tumors. Treatment is expensive and I don’t know how I would handle it if I was on my own and W was sick.

Grambo and I worked together with her Women’s Group to create a care kit for the mom and daughter as part of a Champion for Kids simple service project. But we also worked with her entire church to collect items for the dad and his fellow soldiers. Once again, I was impressed by the generosity of everyone.

It was great to be able to add some Kleenex Care Packages into the mix!

Each care package includes:

  • lip balm
  • 1 oz. hand sanitizer
  • coupon booklet
  • Kleenex® Brand Share Pack
  • Kleenex® Brand Slim Pack
  • 4 music downloads

Although we won’t be there to see the men’s faces when they open their boxes, I like knowing that I’m modeling generosity and giving for my son. It was so easy to do too! Everyone loved getting involved! With people just giving a little, it quickly turned into a lot!

There’s still time to give out additional Kleenex Care Packages too. I think it might be nice to send one to some of the people who donated to our soldier boxes as a little way to say thank you! You can give to someone in need too!

To share with someone who could use a little care, visit your local retailer and purchase a Kleenex Brand Bundle Pack. Then redeem the code on the box by visiting Kleenex.com. It’s so easy and sometimes the little gestures make a huge difference! You could change someone’s day!

You can also learn more on the Kleenex Facebook page too!

Tell me who you would get your Kleenex Care Package!

Formula Mom Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in an ambassador program by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of the Kleenex brand and received product samples and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.

I think that is awesome that you sent out care packages for the troops! I know when my husband was deployed he said he was always overwhelmed with emotion when their unit received care packages. What’s great about them is everyone trades, so you don’t have to worry about sending items specifically for men or women in each care package. If they get something that isn’t for them, they get it to someone who does want it! That means everything you send is appreciated and often touches the lives of more than one soldier. Thanks for thinking of our troops this October!
