Joovy Loo Potty Training Tips Potty Training Tips

Whether you’re at the beginning of your potty training adventure or somewhere along the way in your journey, there are a number of potty training tips that might help you through the tough times!

  • Be positive! Praise your child for every success during potty training, no matter how small it might be!
  • Take breaks! Set a timer or some other reminder for yourself as a parent. This will help you remember to stop your child to take a potty break. Otherwise your son or daughter might just continue playing!
  • Be consistent! Make sure that each member of the family that is part of the training process is doing the same thing. Establish a routine and your procedures as a family.
  • Be patient! If you stay positive and consistent, it will happen!
  • Go small! Use a smaller sized potty that sits on the floor. Young children feel more secure closer to the floor.

Joovy Loo Potty Chair

Joovy is a company based in America that creates family gear products, such as strollers, high chairs, playards, and baby carriers. As busy parents themselves, this family run company strives to bring parents products that are of high-quality, functional, and reasonably priced.

The Loo Potty Chair is a new product to the Joovy line. The Loo has a sleek design that has your child’s comfort and easy cleanup in mind. This potty chair is PVC, BPA and Phthalate Free, has a no-slip grip on the bottom and will accommodate children up to 60 pounds. The interior contains a large splash shield and lifts out to easily dump out the waste.

Potty Training Tips Helping Train a Girl

Potty training my daughter has been a challenge. We first introduced her to a potty chair at an early age but she never really had any interest in it. When she finally showed interest, her potty chair became something that she could scoot around and stand on to climb on things.

Not exactly what I had in mind.

When we received the Joovy Loo, the first thing that I noticed was that it didn’t have a lid and had a no-slip bottom. These features immediately attracted me because those have been my biggest 2 complaints with our old potty chair.

At first, I thought having a lid would be nice, however every little second counts when they are first learning. Even bending down to lift up a lid can make the difference in whether or not they make it on time!

The chair also has a much larger seat than others I’ve seen and has a nice-sized splash guard. I never thought I needed to care much about a splash guard when purchasing a potty chair for a girl, but we have had more instances of her getting in a hurry and sitting on her old potty too fast, and the pee would end up all over the floor. A high splash guard and design that is large enough to get her bottom on it correctly really make a huge difference.

Easy Clean Up

I like how the interior of the chair lifts up so that you can easily dump it. There aren’t any crevices to capture liquid on the top of this chair which really makes for a simple cleanup. Also, when the portion that lifts out of the chair has been removed, your child can sit on the chair and use it. Even if that happens you can easily clean it out.

I don’t know how many times I have been dumping the potty while my daughter decided she would sit back down and go more. So that part of the design really comes in handy.

Overall, the Joovy Loo has solved many of our potty training troubles thus far! I am excited that she now has something easier to use. The chair is also very light and completely portable so we can take it with us to grandma’s house if we need to!

The Joovy Loo Potty Chair can be purchased on the Joovy website for $39.99. You can stay updated on all the new developments by connecting with Joovy on Facebook and on Twitter @JoovyOO!

I love that there aren’t any little spots where liquid can get caught. When I was a nanny, the little boy that I was caring for began potty training not long after I began to watch him. You have no idea how many times I had to scrub out his potty because urine got stuck in all these little spots! His potty smelled horrible all the time! It is nice to know that with one of these, my LO wouldn’t have to deal with that problem.

The little one would love this. She hates climbing up to the big potty but won’t use her other potty chair

Thanks for the tips! This looks like such a great potty seat… My daughter is 10 months old so it won’t be long before we’ll need one. I also love that it doesn’t have a lid, the one I got my son did and I hated it so we ended up just using it as a step stool!

My youngest granddaughter is just starting to potty train. I think if she had her very own chair (she has been using the one her older siblings used) she would use it more. Looks sturdy and easy to clean.

  8. Alisha Hodges says

I like that this has a high splash guard. The thought of a splash guard didn’t even cross my mind until I read this review. I’m glad you brought it up.

  9. Amy M says

Almost ready to start potty training here. The potty looks great and the tips you gave are great. Thanks!

  10. Danielle Papsis says

I like that it’s white and looks like a toilet bowl. My daughter likes everything the way we have it, whether it’s her meals or shower or whatever. This might be a better option for us than the cutesy Potty we have now.
