WorryWoos
I first introduced you to WorryWoos as part of my Baby Can Learn event in August and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to share about the WorryWoos again! I am a huge fan of the WorryWoo Monsters because they are adorable and because their stories are amazing. They stories, written by author Andi Green, and the characters she created each explore a different emotion such as loneliness, feeling like you don’t fit in, and being shy. These are issues all of our children deal with and I see kids coping with them everyday in my work as a teacher. I love that Andi has created the adorable WorryWoos to help teach children how to handle these emotions.
We recently added the newest WorryWoo monster to our family. Wince is the newest WorryWoo and I have been waiting for his release. I was thrilled when we got the opportunity to review Wince and his book. Wince is the monster of worry and if you’re like me then you could definitely benefit from reading his story! As a mother I seem to worry a lot more than I used to worry!
I want to encourage W to be as worry-free as possible when he’s young. There is so much in life to stress kids out these days from having to balance homework (starting in kindergarten!) and sports practice or dance classes to worrying about standardized testing that begins so early! So my goal is to do my best to let W be a child as long as I can and to help him be as worry-free as possible.
Wince’s story, Don’t Feed the WorryBug, is a wonderful WorryWoos story about how worries grow bigger and bigger if you let them.
If you feed the WorryBug, he will grow larger and larger until he is keeping you awake at night. Wince reminds us that it’s important to stay busy and play and not to worry the day away!
As a mother, I love the message of the WorryWoo books and as an educator I like that the books have a great rhythm that is perfect for reading aloud. It also has a wonderful rhyme scheme that makes the story fun to listen to and also lends itself to being a great choice for reading out loud. Having a lovable book character in plush makes it even more appealing! Children love having a reading buddy with them when sharing a book. It’s motivating and a great way to encourage children to read!
Buy it! You can purchase any of the WorryWoo monsters and books on the WorryWoos website. The WorryWoos books are available for $14.99 and come in hardcover. The coordinating plush toys are $21.50. You can get the book and plush together as a set for $36.
You can also follow WorryWoos on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube! Get connected to stay updated on all of the new monsters and their stories!
