Help a Community with State Farm Neighborhood Assist
One thing I love about the area I live is that it is a small town nestled in a huge metro area. It’s an incorporated town out in the suburbs of Houston and it has that small town feel. We have our own police force and we have community events that support our local schools and other groups. It really feels like people care about our neighborhood.
One of our most recent community projects was the city clean up. Residents were able to drop off large trash items, old appliances, old paint, and other items that can be difficult to dispose of and the city took care of it! It was a great way to get things spruced up just a bit!
But not every neighborhood is like that and State Farm Neighborhood Assist is in its second year of helping make communities better!
State Farm Neighborhood Assist awards $25,000 grants to help communities through community development, education and safety initiatives. There are 200 programs throughout the United States and Canada in the running to earn one of 40 grants from State Farm Neighborhood Assist and we can vote for our favorites!
From now until April 22nd you can vote on which cause you would like to receive $25,000 and the 40 with the most votes will win. The applicants for 2013 are up on State Farm’s Facebook page and you can go and vote for your favorites (up to 10 votes per day) through April 22nd!
What projects would you like to see in your community?
