Frankenweenie Premiere #DisneyMoviesEvent

Frankenweenie Premiere on the White Carpet

In the continuing story of my trip of firsts, last night I attended my first red carpet movie premiere. Wait, scratch that. It was a white carpet premiere which was so fitting for the Frankenweenie premiere. I’m just a busy mom whose life revolves around my son and my kids at school. A Hollywood movie premiere was like something out of a dream.

I felt so lucky and blessed to have the opportunity. It was so exciting and just what this busy mom needed to make things exciting for a night.

I had a blast with my new friends! Moms do know how to have fun! We laughed and took plenty of photos! Look at our smiles. They just sum up the feeling of the whole evening! And yes, all of my photos are in black and white to go with the theme of the movie! I told you I got into it! I had been looking forward to this movie for weeks!

Stars Walk the White Carpet

Okay, so maybe Sparky wasn’t walking the white carpet but I did spot him. I would have probably fallen apart if he had actually been there. I have a soft spot for that little undead dog! After seeing the film, he has definitely worked his way even deeper into my heart! Yes, I know he’s animated. But haven’t you ever just fallen in love with animated character?

Celebrities! Frankenweenie Premiere #DisneyMoviesEvent

There were a number of non-animated celebrities on the white carpet. There were calls of “Winona, Winona!” as Winona Ryder made her way to the theater. So many familiar faces in the flesh. I spotted some of my favorite sharks from Shark Tank too! I was worried I would be a bit starstruck but instead I just soaked it all in. It was amazing to be part of something so spectacular! The energy is just something you have to feel to believe! It made it that much more fun to walk into the theater to see the film!

The Aftermath of Frankenweenie aka the After Party

Without going into all of the details of the film, I will say that I thought it was fabulous. I laughed. I cried. Yes, I cried. There were moments that were just so touching. It was nothing I expected to feel but it was good. Definitely good. I think it’s definitely a great family film for kids who are around 10 and up. It is a great film for Halloween.

While Sparky still holds onto my heart. I also made a little space for the mummy hamster! Look at him! So terrifying! Hey… hamsters can be scary. My sister had one once and it ate its way out of the plastic cage. Scary!

Frankenweenie Premiere Afterparty #DisneyMoviesEvent

Being invited to the party following the premiere was also an amazing experience. Tim Burton and Winona Ryder were there. It was pretty cool to see them together. I’ll admit it! I also had the opportunity to have a great conversation with Robert Capron‘s father. Rob is the voice of Bob in Frankenweenie. I’ll have more on that pretty soon! But I have to mention that he is an extremely level-headed young man. His father is the same and it was great to learn more about the next generation of Hollywood stars. I’m pretty sure Rob will be around for many years to come!

Oh, and there were some amazing cookies at the party too! You know I can’t resist a good cookie (or two).

Was it amazing? Absolutely! Should you see Frankenweenie? No doubt about it! Even if you don’t have a white carpet to walk, I definitely recommend checking out this movie with your older kids when it opens on October 5th! You could even dress in black and white to go with the them like we did! While you wait, check out the Frankenweenie website and connect with Frankenweenie on Facebook!

So… Sparky or Mummy Hamster? Who would win if they went head to head?

    • Loved the movie more than I expected! It’s a great film as we head into Halloween season. Definitely a good option that is much more family-friendly than a lot of the movies coming out around Halloween.

  3. I have photographic proof that you can’t resist cookies ;) So glad you had a fabulous time. I cannot wait to see the movie with my hubs (yes… I’ll be leaving the kids with family to see the movie for our monthly date night).
