eShakti women's designer dresses

Glamour with eShakti

I am not a dress girl. Nope. Mostly t-shirts and jeans. Which is funny because I didn’t wear jeans at all until my late teens. So really, I would wear pajamas and yoga pants all day if I could. But sometimes I have a reason to get all decked out! Recently I had the opportunity to try one of the gorgeous dresses available at eShakti.

I was hoping to wear it on my recent trip to Los Angeles. I thought it would be wonderful for the red carpet premiere of Frankenweenie. The theme was black and white, so I was sure the Starlit Lace Satin Dress would be perfect for the event! When the dress arrived, I thought it was absolutely gorgeous! Definitely added a touch of glam to my closet!

eShakti customizable dresses for women

Customizing to Fit my Style

If you look on the website, you might notice that my dress looks a bit different from the model. I love that eShakti offers options for minor customization. I wanted something that might work well for the winter months in Houston so I decided to add sleeves. There were four options in addition to the one shown on the website. I opted for the flared short sleeves and loved the look of them.

Based on the sizing chart, I ordered the size that should have fit me well. But you can also provide your measurements for custom sizing! The length can be changed as well and I ordered my dress at knee-length. Sometimes dresses can be a bit too short for me because I am on the taller side.

While I loved the sleeves on the dress, I wonder how it might have changed the fit. There was a lot of extra fabric for me on top. The dress fit snugly around my ribcage and then was loose on top. I have a smaller bust so that might have been part of my issues. But there will need to be some slight altering for me to be able to wear it.

Customization on my eShakti dress

As a result of there being too much fabric on top, the sleeve constantly slides off one shoulder or another. The dress is also very low-cut so it had to be tabled for my first trip to Hollywood. I didn’t need to have a Janet Jackson moment at my first movie premiere! Not a memory I wanted to make! I do plan on working on getting the dress fitted to my upper body better because it is a beautiful dress.

Mom Goes Glam with eShakti!

Mom Goes Glam

Although I have struggled with some fit issues with me eShakti dress, I think it is a gorgeous dress. W loves to hug me when I’m wearing it so it seems to be toddler approved! He also enjoyed wearing my shoes around while I got dressed. I am thinking that despite the size chart I should have utilized the custom measurements feature to get a good fit. In the future I plan to take advantage of it to see how the fit comes out.

I have had issues in the past with clothing fitting correctly because of my broad shoulders and small bust. So it is not an issue just limited to the eShakti dress. That’s why I do like that they offer so many custom options. If you don’t have many issues with finding clothing that fits well, then I think the size chart will work great for you. And the quality is there so you’re definitely getting your money’s worth when you order with them!
