DIY Boy Bedroom Makeover
Yes, the title of this post is DIY Boy Bedroom Makeover. Yes, that is a photo of a very pink room. Well, that is the before shot!
When we moved into our house 9 months ago, that is what W’s bedroom looked like. He still sleeps in our room so it wasn’t that big of a deal. It took us a few months to get settled in before we would even think about DIY projects. But the time finally came to tackle W’s room so he would have a little boy bedroom of his own!
After doing W’s nursery with pops of primary colors, I knew I wanted to do something similar for his little boy bedroom. But I wanted something different from the zoo animals I used for the nursery. My Wonderful Walls came to the rescue with their fabulous Transportation Theme Wall Stickers!
W loves all things cars and trucks these days so the set was absolutely perfect. The primary colors seemed like they were designed exactly for his room! So I was thrilled to get started. It took us a two weekends to paint the room because we got horrible coverage with poorly mixed paint the first time. Once we got that fixed, we were good to go!

So there it is! W finally has a room that is suitable for curious and active little boy! The thing I love best is that we used the wall stickers from My Wonderful Walls to add pops of color around the room. They easily peel off and are repositionable. So when W gets older and maybe wants something different in his room, I can remove them with ease and be left with my gorgeous gray walls. I think it will grow well with him!
So what did W think about it?
The room is toddler approved! He loves the wall stickers and walks around the room touching all of the ones he can reach!
In fact, I’m currently blogging from his bedroom because he saw me editing the photos and wanted to go upstairs! Now he’s throwing all the books off the shelves so I think I need to go have a mommy intervention!
