Diversity on Demand

February is not just about hearts and candy, it’s also Black History Month. As a teacher, it’s been a part of my life for many years. It’s a wonderful opportunity to take time to learn more about the past and the way it has impacted today. Leading digital cable providers and cable networks around the country are celebrating Black History Month with Diversity On Demand!

You can learn more about African-American history at your own convenience thanks to Diversity on Demand.  With the press of a button, you can learn about everything from famous back musicians to important moments in history including the Civil Rights movement. You can explore the achievements and contributions of African-American sports figures and enjoy movies and tv shows featuring some of your favorite black actors and actresses!

As a mom and teacher, I feel that awareness and education is essential to success in life. Although you don’t have to be an expert on everything that has ever happened in the history of our country, it is important to know what makes us who we are. For me, Black History Month is all about understanding where others have come from and the impact it has on my life.

I truly think that the old saying of “If you forget history, you are doomed to repeat it, ” is very accurate. We must all be students of history to not make the same mistakes over and over again.
