Disney Princess Holiday Gift Giving

Christmas is definitely about giving for me. I enjoy opening a few gifts (who wouldn’t?) but I love choosing gifts for others and watching them open them! So last month when I went shopping for a great Disney Princess Holiday Gift for a special little girl, I was ecstatic! R and S are the mother and daughter that my family has been gathering gifts for over the past few months. It started with a project to put together boxes for the husband/dad who is stationed overseas. But it has become much more for us.

Walmart Layaway for Holiday Gift Giving

Using layaway at Walmart was a fabulous way for Grambo and I to do some shopping for S. We wanted to pick out some Disney Princess toys to wrap and give to her mom as a way to help out with Christmas just a little bit. Layaway made it extremely easy for us to choose more toys than we may have been able to normally afford in one trip.

Setting up my layaway account was easy and thankfully finalizing my purchase went almost as smoothly! All I had to do was pay my balance and then the girl working at the desk when back to find my things. That was when the wait began and I’ll admit that I got a little worried while Grambo and I waited.

But finally she emerged with all of our goodies and I was relieved to know that they were all safe and sound! Everything came out from the back room wrapped in brown paper but I checked to make sure it was all there! Grambo and I spent $150 and got 3 wonderful Disney Princess Toys:

• Disney Princess Cinderella Fairytale Castle Play Set

Holiday Gift Wrapping Party

After Grambo and I picked up our Disney toys, we gathered up gift wrapping supplies and headed to meet with Grambo’s women’s group. They meet once or twice a month and this month wrapping the gifts for S was on the agenda. Some of the women brought some other gifts for her as well.

There were also gifts to be wrapped for S’s mom, R. So we had lots to work on and it was wonderful to have a group of caring women to share the work with. It made the wrapping go by so quickly!

The generosity everyone showed by purchasing gifts and spending time wrapping them touched my heart. I love seeing people come together to make the lives of others just a bit brighter. I think that’s why I love the holiday season. More and more people seem to be willing to give of themselves during the holidays.

Gifts for Mom & Daughter

When we were done wrapping everything, I couldn’t believe that my little shopping trip to Walmart for Disney Princess toys for one little girl could grow into such a great donation. Although we won’t be there on Christmas day to see them open the gifts, the reaction from R when my mom gave her the gifts yesterday was enough.

The joy and graciousness let me know that we were gifting to a deserving family. I wish every family could be as blessed as mine has been this year but I know different people have different struggles throughout their lives. If I can help bring some joy to their lives for even a day or two, that is the best gift of all.

All R and S need now is Cinderella on Blu-Ray/DVD and they will be set for some holiday Disney Princess fun!
