Baked Wonton Tacos
If you spend any time on Pinterest like I do then you might have gotten caught up in what seems to be a wonton craze! When I think of wontons, I think of Chinese food and usually soup. I never thought that there might be a world of ways to use wonton wrappers. But Pinterest has once again given me an education and challenged me. And I wanted to make Baked Wonton Tacos.
Was I nervous to use an item I’d never used in my kitchen before? Definitely. Was I intrigued? Absolutely! Wonton wrappers fit perfectly into my approach as a semi-homemade mom in the kitchen.
But for now I went for a more semi-homemade approach with these baked wonton tacos. I actually used precooked chicken from Sam’s Club so all we had to do was heat it in the oven for a bit and then shred it up. But you can boil your own chicken breasts to shred as well.
These were a huge hit with everyone, including W! And I loved the bit of an Asian flare they had compared to more of a Mexican taco. Although they would be just as good with more typical taco meat too!
What you need:
- 2 chicken breasts, cooked and shredded
- 3 Tablespoons Asian Ginger Sesame dressing/marinade
- 3 Tablespoons Honey BBQ Sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese
- 12-16 wonton wrappers
What you do:
- Heat oven to 400 degrees.
- Cook your chicken and shred with a food processor or forks.
- Add Asian Ginger Sesame dressing and Honey BBQ Sauce. Mix well.
- Add cheese and mix.
- Fill each wonton wrappers with a spoonful of filling. Pinch wrapper to close and place on baking sheet.
- Bake 12-14 minutes or until golden brown.

We enjoyed these as a meal along with some chips and cilantro salsa. But they would make a great appetizer as well! No matter when I serve them, I love how easy and delicious these are!
