Back to School Technology
I get a little thrill when I see the school supplies start showing up on the shelves at local stores. I don’t know if they really need to make their debut in July but I do love some new pens and notebooks! For the past three years I’ve taught in the computer lab. Teaching technology to elementary students was a blast. It also made me realize just how important back to school technology is these days.
Kids know how to do everything. If they don’t, they pick it up quickly!
Loved it when a first grade student asked me last year if I would be giving them their own zip drive to save their work on. Yes, he was 5 years old. And he was disappointed when I told him that I would not be handing out that particular supply.
LifeBytes from Dane Elec
I save all of our photos on USB drives. Well, I plan to do that anyway. I will admit that it’s a project I’m a bit behind on. I also use a USB drive to work on lesson plans from home and then take them to work with me. I’m always on the hunt for new USB drives because I will admit that I have a weak spot for cute.
I recently had the opportunity to try an 8GB Dane-Elec LifeBytes USB drive in the tribal design. I loved the design because it’s small and easy to take with me! The LifeBytes drive is a 1 inch square and comes in two other designs as well.

The LifeBytes USB drive fits great in my laptop case and my camera case so it’s definitely easy to take with me on the go!
USB Technology for Everyone
Dane-Elec offers two other USB lines as well. I actually love them all! They would make great back to school gifts for the college student in your life! I’m a mom using them to store my families memories but they would work great for term papers and important class projects as well!
The USB drives are available at Target, Staples, Best Buy, Office Depot, and other retailers. They also feature a Dane-Elec 5-year warranty.
What do you use USB drives for?

I love having extra USB drives around. I am a college student and sometimes save my work so I can work on another computer. I also use them to backup our pictures along with burning them on CD. My older two kids use them for school as well. It was on the school supply list this year.

I am always in need of more USB storage space for pictures.
I never even considered putting my photos on them, but it makes sense. That’s something I could even keep in the car. Those and our emergency packs are on my list if we ever had to leave the house quickly due to a natural disaster.

I use flash drives for a lot of different things! I use them for storing pictures and important documents that I want to make sure I back up in case my computer crashes. I run my own home based candle business so I use a flash drive for all my business records and printable flyers, sale ads, and business card templates.
