Affordable Family Fun
When I hear the words cupcake bar, I begin drooling. It’s true. Cupcakes are one of my weaknesses. I don’t think I’ve ever met one that I didn’t like. I also love baking them. Although I’m not a pro at decorating, it’s just about having fun which is what I do!
I’ll admit that when I hear cupcake bar, I think of fancy set ups with delicate and elegant cupcakes. I think it reminds me of the candy bars that people have at their weddings. But… a cupcake bar is a great way to have some affordable family fun and end up with sweet treats at the end.
Setting Up a Cupcake Bar
You don’t need much to put together your own homemade cupcake bar. Whip up a batch of your favorite cupcakes and grab a tub of frosting (or make your own if you’re fancy like that). Then search the cabinets for all of your left over sprinkles. You don’t even have to buy any new ones unless you’re all out!
I spent less than $4 to make (and frost) 20 cupcakes for our cupcake bar. That makes this an affordable way for larger families to spend time together as well!

Remember that the set up doesn’t have to be fancy. And no matter what you do, it’s probably going to be a little messy! But as long as the family is laughing and having a good time, you’re golden! The cupcakes might not be the designer treats you see in all the little bakeries these days, but they will be unique and taste great!

This is something we love doing at home. Decorating cupcakes at home is fun, affordable, and delicious.

I like the idea to pull out all the leftovers and use them up. Saves on your cabinet space, too!

This is fun! We enjoy doing a cupcake or sundae bar. The kids usually get carried away with the toppings but it’s a lot of fun.

We haven’t done a family fun food night yet (my little guy is still too young) but I’ve been thinking about having an ice cream social night with my best gal pals. Any excuse to eat ice cream, right?!
